# Brands (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/account/brands)

A brand is a company, product, or person you grow with FounderHQ. See
[Organizations and brands](/get-started/organizations-and-brands) for what
a brand holds. Owners and admins manage brands.

## Create a brand

1. Open [Settings → Brands](https://app.getfounderhq.com/?openSettings=brands) and press **Create**.
2. Choose the type: **Company**, **Product**, or **Person**.
3. Enter the website. FounderHQ reads your basics, colors, and social
links from it. With no website, choose **I'll add details manually**.
4. Check the basics: **Name**, **Tagline**, **One-liner**, **About**,
   **Industry**, **Geography**, and **Value proposition**.
5. Go through the remaining steps, or skip them: visual identity,
audience, social accounts, knowledge, and competitors. Each one gives
   Astro more to work from.
6. Press **Create brand**.

The new brand starts empty. It needs its own
[API keys](/account/api-keys) and its own connections.

## Edit a brand

Open [Settings → Brands](https://app.getfounderhq.com/?openSettings=brands) and click the brand's card. Change
anything from the steps above and press **Save changes**.

The brand type is set when you create the brand and does not change.

## Delete a brand

Click the trash icon on the brand's card, then **Delete brand**.

The brand and everything in it are deleted for good, but not at once. For
24 hours the card shows **Deletion scheduled**, and **Restore brand**
brings it back.

After you restore a brand, turn its API keys back on and reconnect its
payment accounts.

## How many brands you can have

Your plan includes a number of brands. When you reach it, FounderHQ offers
two choices: **Add a brand**, which adds one to your subscription, or
**Change plan**. See [Subscription](/account/subscription#add-seats-or-brands).

### "Archived by plan"

When a plan change leaves you with more brands than the new plan allows,
FounderHQ asks you to **Choose brands to keep**. The others are paused and
show **Archived by plan**. A paused brand keeps all its data. It becomes
active again when you upgrade or add a brand.
