# Credits (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/account/credits)

Credits pay for video generation in [Studio](/studio). Nothing else in
FounderHQ uses them. 100 credits are worth $1.

[Settings → Subscription](https://app.getfounderhq.com/?openSettings=subscription&subscriptionView=credits)

## Where credits come from

| Source | When they expire |
| --- | --- |
| Your plan's monthly credits | At the end of each billing period. Unused ones do not carry over. |
| Credits you buy | One year after the purchase |

During a free trial, the plan's credits are locked. They unlock when the
trial becomes a paid subscription.

## Read your balance

**Available balance** shows your credits and their value in dollars. Below
it you see when the next credits expire and how many are reserved by
videos still generating. If a generation fails, its reserved credits come
back.

Your balance is also at the bottom of the Studio sidebar.

## Buy credits

Owners and admins can buy credits.

1. Under **Buy credits**, move the slider to an amount from $10 to $500.
2. Press **Pay now**.

Larger purchases include bonus credits:

| You pay | Bonus |
| --- | --- |
| $50 or more | 5% |
| $100 or more | 10% |
| $250 or more | 15% |
| $500 | 20% |

Tick **Enable seamless checkout for future purchases** to save your
payment method. Later purchases then take one click, and auto-reload
becomes available.

## Top up automatically

**Auto-reload** buys credits for you when your balance runs low. It needs
a saved payment method.

1. Set **Reload when below** to a number of credits.
2. Set **Reload amount** in dollars.
3. Press **Enable auto-reload**.

After 3 failed charges in a row, auto-reload pauses. Fix the payment
method, then press **Resume**.

## Cap your spending

**Monthly budget** limits what can be charged for credits in a calendar
month. Auto-reload stops at the cap. A manual purchase over the cap asks
you to confirm.

## See what was spent

The activity list shows every change to your balance: plan credits,
purchases, bonuses, each **Video generation**, expired credits, and
refunds.
