# Browse events and visits (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/analytics/guides/browse-events-and-visits)

**Events & Visits** is the raw record: every event FounderHQ received for
a brand, and the visits they belong to. Use it to check your setup and to
understand what one person did.

## Events and visits

Switch between the two at the top.

- An **event** is one fact: a page view, a click, a payment, an event you
  named.
- A **visit** is a run of activity by one person. It ends after 30
  minutes without activity.

## Read the events

Each row shows the event, the person, where they were, the source, and the
time. Hover the time to see it in your time zone and in theirs.

**Search by event name** finds one event, such as `trial.started`.

### Types

**Filter** has a **Type** list.

| Type | Events |
| --- | --- |
| **Pages** | Page and screen views |
| **Actions** | Events you named, and clicks |
| **Revenue** | Payments and refunds |
| **Frustration** | Rage clicks and dead clicks |
| **Identity** | Sign-ins and profile changes |
| **Outbound clicks** | Clicks on links that leave your site |
| **App lifecycle** | Installs, updates, opens |
| **System** | Bookkeeping events. Hidden to start with. |

### Sources

| Source | The event came from |
| --- | --- |
| **Your site** | The SDK in your site or app |
| **API** | Your server |
| **A message** | A message you sent, such as an open or a click |
| **System** | FounderHQ itself. Payments from a connected account are here. |

## Read a visit

Switch to **Visits**. Each card is one visit: the person, their country
and device, and marks for what happened, such as **Bounced**,
**Identified**, **Rage click**, or **Paid**.

Open a card to read the visit step by step under **Timeline**.
**Session info** shows where the visit came from. **Hide auto-captured**
leaves only the events you named.

Pick a **Goal** to mark the visits that reached it.

## Check that your setup works

1. Load a page on your site.
2. Open **Events**. A page view for that page arrives within a few
   seconds.
3. Do the thing your own event records. The event appears, with its
   properties.

If you see page views and not your own event, the visitor has not granted
consent. See [Consent and privacy](/analytics/concepts/consent-and-privacy).

## When nothing matches

Widen the period, or clear the filters. Your team's own visits are hidden
to start with: turn off **Hide internal users** to see them.
