# Approve changes (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/astro/approve-changes)

Astro changes some things at once, and asks first for others. It asks when
the change touches something your whole team relies on.

## When Astro asks

In Analytics and Sequences, these changes wait for your approval:

| Change | Asks first |
| --- | --- |
| Creating a segment | No |
| Changing or deleting a segment | Yes |
| Creating or changing a goal | Yes |
| Editing an insight that is on a dashboard | Yes |
| Removing an insight from a dashboard | Yes |

In the other products Astro edits the draft in front of you, and you undo
with version history.

## Answer an approval card

The card reads **Approval needed** and shows what will change: each
changed field with its old value struck through and the new one beside it.
When something else depends on the item, the card lists it under
**Used by**.

- **Approve** makes the change.
- **Reject** leaves everything as it is. Press **Add a reason** first to
tell Astro why, so it can try something else.

Only the person who started the task can answer. A chat that waits for you
is marked **Needs input**.

If the item changed after you were asked, Astro applies nothing and tells
you.

## Plan mode

For a very large change in Analytics, Astro writes a plan before it does
anything shared. The pill beside the model picker reads **Plan mode**, and
then **Plan ready**.

While it plans, Astro can read your data and make insights inside the
chat. Nothing your team shares changes.

The plan appears as a card.

- **Go ahead** starts the work.
- **Discard plan** drops it.
- To change the plan, type what should be different.

Typing "go ahead" does not start the work. Only the button does.

## The checklist

During a long task, the **Checklist** tray above the text box shows each
step and marks it when it is done. Use it to see how far Astro is.
