# Your writing voice (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/compose/writing-voice)

Astro reads your own LinkedIn posts and writes a short description of how
you write: your tone, your sentence length, the way you open and close a
post. It uses that description for every draft.

## See your voice

Open the profile switcher at the top of the Compose sidebar and choose
**Your writing voice**. You see a headline and a list of traits.

The voice is read from your posts. You cannot edit it by hand. To change
how a draft sounds, tell Astro in the chat.

## What Astro needs

| | |
| --- | --- |
| Posts needed | At least 8 posts of your own. Reposts do not count. |
| Posts read | Up to 30 |
| Kept current | Refreshed after 5 new posts, or after 30 days |

With fewer than 8 posts, the dialog tells you how many you have. Until you
reach 8, Astro drafts from your strongest posts.

## Create or refresh it

Press **Create my voice** the first time, or **Refresh** later. The dialog
shows when the voice was last updated.

Reading your posts is AI work. It runs on your [Companion](/companion)
when your provider is a subscription. If Companion is not running, the
dialog says Astro will finish on your own machine the next time it is.

## One voice per profile

Each of your own profiles has its own voice. Switch the profile at the top
of the sidebar to draft as another one. Switching starts a new chat.
