# Get indexed (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/publish/get-indexed)

Two connections help a new post get found. IndexNow tells search engines
the moment you publish. Google Search Console shows you which searches
already bring people.

## Turn on IndexNow

IndexNow is a signal that Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam, and Yep accept.
With it on, Publish notifies them every time a post goes live. Google does
not use IndexNow: it finds your posts with its own crawler. About 5
minutes.

<Callout title="Before you start">
You need a [connected blog](/publish/connect-your-blog) with a blog
address, and a way to upload one file to your site.
</Callout>

1. Open [Publish → Settings](https://app.getfounderhq.com/publish/settings) and press **IndexNow** on your
   blog connection.
2. Press **Set up IndexNow**.
3. Create a text file with the name FounderHQ shows. Paste the content
FounderHQ shows into it, and nothing else.
4. Upload the file to the top folder of your site, so that it opens at
   the address FounderHQ shows.
5. Press **I have done this**, then **Check now**.

Already have an IndexNow key? Choose **Already have an IndexNow key? Use
yours**.

### Verify

The wizard ends with **You are live**, and the connection shows IndexNow
as **On**. After your next publish, **Recent activity** lists the post
that was sent.

**Waiting for the key file** means FounderHQ could not open the file yet.
Check its name, its content, and that it sits in the top folder.

## Connect Google Search Console

Search Console gives Publish two things: the searches Google already shows
your site for, and the clicks and rank of your posts. You do not need it
to write or publish.

1. Open [Analytics → Settings](https://app.getfounderhq.com/analytics/settings). Search Console is set up in
Analytics, because Analytics uses it too.
2. Under **Google Search Console**, press **Connect Search Console** and
   sign in with Google.
3. Pick your site under **Search Console property** and press
   **Use property**.

### Verify

The connection shows **Active**. FounderHQ reads Google once a day, so the
first numbers arrive within a day.

- In [Publish → Keyword Planner](https://app.getfounderhq.com/publish/keywords), the **Google suggestions** tab
fills in, and **Impressions** and **Rank** appear on your keywords.
- In [Analytics → Overview](https://app.getfounderhq.com/analytics), choose **Google Search Console**
as the source to see the pages people land on and the searches that
  bring them.

### Manage the connection

The menu on the connection has **Sync now**, **Change property**, and
**Archive**. **Needs attention** means Google refused the last read: sign
in again.
