# Plan posts (https://www.getfounderhq.com/docs/publish/plan-posts)

The calendar holds every post Publish has planned from your keywords. You
can move a post, add your own, and start the writing early.

[Publish → Calendar](https://app.getfounderhq.com/publish/calendar)

## What Astro does on its own

| When | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| 14 days before a post's date | Astro writes the brief: the outline the draft is written from |
| 7 days before | Astro writes the draft from the brief, then reviews it |
| The end of the planned day | With auto-publish on, a draft that passed review goes to your blog |

You do not need to do anything for this to happen. To stop it, see
[Pause automatic writing](/publish/settings#pause-automatic-writing).

## Read a post's status

| Colour | Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Grey | **Planned** | On the calendar. Nothing written yet. |
| Grey | **Skipped** | You took it off the plan |
| Blue | **Writing the brief**, **Brief ready** | The outline is being written, or is done |
| Blue | **Writing the draft**, **Astro is reviewing** | The article is being written or scored |
| Amber | **Needs a new angle** | Astro could not find a distinct angle for this date. Change the topic, or try again. |
| Green | **Draft ready** | The draft passed review and waits for you |
| Green | **Published** | Live on your blog |
| Red | **Failed** | The last try did not finish. Open the post and press **Try again**. |

## Add a post of your own

1. Press **Plan content**, or the plus on a day.
2. Give the post a title, pick a target keyword, or both. With a keyword
you can leave the title to Astro.
3. Choose the date and, if you want, a content type.
4. Add notes: anything the brief and the draft should cover.
5. Press **Add to calendar**.

## Move a post

In **Month** view, drag the post to another day.

A post you move is kept on its date. Otherwise, Astro may move a post when
it replans the calendar. The pill on the post reads **Date kept** or
**Date can move**, and you can switch it.

## Write the brief or the draft now

Open a post. It has two steps.

1. **Brief.** Press **Write it now**, or **Write it myself** to write the
   outline by hand.
2. **Draft.** Press **Write it now** once a brief exists. The brief comes
   first.

While Astro works, the step reads **Astro is writing it now**. You can
close the post and come back.

Not happy with the result? Press **Write it again**, and say what should
change. The current version stays in the editor's history.

Your notes can be changed until a draft exists. After that they are shown
as the notes Astro wrote from.

## Skip or remove a post

Open the post's menu.

- **Skip this post** takes it off the plan and keeps it on the calendar.
**Put it back on the plan** reverses that.
- **Remove from calendar** deletes the planned post. A brief or a draft
  already written stays in **Articles**.

## When you reach your article limit

**Plan content** and the write buttons are disabled, and Publish tells you
when more articles become available. See your limit under
**Articles this month** in the sidebar.
