Troubleshoot Astro
What each Astro message means and how to fix it.
Find the message Astro showed you.
No AI provider
"Connect an AI account to start Astro."
No AI provider is connected. Open Settings → AI Provider and connect one. See AI providers.
"Reconnect your AI account in Settings, then try again."
The sign-in of your subscription expired. Open Settings → AI Provider, find the provider marked Reconnect, and connect it again.
Companion
"No companion app is online."
Your provider is a subscription, and it needs Companion. Open Companion on your computer and send the message again. See Where Astro runs.
"Open the companion app on your computer, then try again."
The same cause. Check that Companion is running and paired: Settings → Companion Apps shows Active now for a machine that is online.
"Waiting for an available companion…"
Companion went offline during the reply. The reply continues when a Companion is back.
Limits
"Your AI accounts have no allowance left. Try again after the reset, or connect another account."
Your subscription's allowance for this period is used up. Wait for it to reset, or connect a second provider.
"Claude is rate limited right now."
Your subscription is still connected. Wait a few minutes and try again.
"Your AI accounts are busy. Try again in a while."
Your provider is handling as many requests as it allows. Try again shortly.
"The AI provider is not responding. Try again in a while."
The provider has a problem on its side. Nothing is wrong with your setup.
Models
"Your connected AI accounts cannot use this model. Choose another model."
The model you picked is not included in your plan or your key. Choose another one in the picker under the text box.
Credits
"Not enough credits for this video"
Video generation in Studio uses credits, and this video needs more than you have. Buy credits in Settings → Subscription, or lower the resolution or the duration. See Credits.
Check a provider
Open Settings → AI Provider and press Test on the provider. Connection successful! means FounderHQ can reach it.
