Review and publish

Read Astro's review, edit the article, and send it to your blog.

Every draft opens in an editor with Astro beside it. You read the review, change what you want, and publish to your blog.

Before you start

You need a draft, and a connected blog.

Open the article

Open Publish → Articles and click the article. You can also press Open on a post in the calendar.

Read Astro's review

Astro Review shows a score from 0 to 100 and six parts:

PartWhat it measures
SEOHow well the article targets its keyword
AI answersHow easily an AI assistant can quote it
E-E-A-TExperience, expertise, authority, and trust
FactsWhether its claims hold up
OriginalWhat it says that other pages do not
DepthHow fully it covers the topic

A score of 80 or more is green, 60 to 79 is amber, and under 60 is red.

Astro revises a draft that scores under 80, up to 5 times, before it shows you the result.

Edit

Type in the article to change it. Save stores your changes.

Or ask Astro, in the panel beside the article. For example:

  • "Tighten the introduction"
  • "Add a concrete example"
  • "Make the tone more confident"
  • "Suggest 3 H2 sections"

Astro changes the article in place. You can attach an image to your message.

Change the title, the address, and the search text

Press Metadata.

FieldWhat it is
TitleThe headline on the post
SlugThe last part of the post's address
Meta titleThe title a search engine shows

Press Save metadata.

Go back to an earlier version

Open Version history and pick a version to read it. Astro is off while you look at an older version. Return to current draft brings you back.

Publish

  1. Save your edits. Publish sends the saved version.
  2. Press Publish.
  3. Choose the Targets: one or more of your blog connections.
  4. Choose the Author, or leave Auto.
  5. Choose the Mode:
    • Publish Live makes the post public on your blog.
    • Store Draft saves it in your CMS as a draft, for you to publish there.
  6. Press Publish.

Verify

The article's status changes to Published, and its row in Articles gets a link that opens the post on your blog. The post on the calendar shows Published too.

To change a published article, edit it here and press Republish.

Publish by itself

With auto-publish on, you can skip step 4. A draft goes to your primary blog at the end of its planned day when all of these are true:

  • Its review score is 80 or more.
  • A primary blog connection is active.
  • Posts per month is above 0.

Turn auto-publish on or off in Settings.

Troubleshoot

"Save your current edits before publishing."

You have changes that are not saved. Press Save, then publish.

"Set a default CMS author … before publishing."

Your blog needs an author on every post, and none is matched. Open Publish → Settings, press Map authors on the connection, and match one.

The status is "Publish failed"

Your blog refused the post. Open Publish → Settings and press Validate on the connection to see what is wrong.
